Proprietary Data Tech

We’ve invested over $2 million to build our proprietary data offering.

Signals vs Conversions.

In the modern PPC landscape, all actions are treated equally unless the system is otherwise informed. Our advanced data solutions allow us to easily differentiate between basic  Signals/Metrics versus Conversions/KPIs.

Data Storage Solutions.

Platforms such as Google Search Console (GSC) only hold 16 months of data. SEP’s data tech can store your first-party data indefinitely.

What We Do with the Data

Data can’t help drive efficiencies if it just sits in storage. To be useful, it needs to be queried and analyzed.

Data Manipulation + KPI Creation.

Inside native platforms, data often exists but is not shown in a way that provides valuable insights. Our system sorts and organizes data in a more useable fashion and automatically triggers actionable insights based on data patterns, leading to better KPI recommendations and campaign outcomes.

Data Comparison.

Our trusted data solutions provide more views for comparing metrics – whether it’s you vs you or you vs competitors. This helps us assess the impact of changes and adjust strategy if needed.

Data Joinups – Connecting Systems.

All leads are not created equal. We connect all the points on your CRM systems and assign lead quality values that match actual outcomes. Then, we use the data to “educate” platforms like Google Ads and GSC to keep costs low and ROAS high.

First-Party Data Advantages

As third-party cookies are phased out, first-party data becomes critical for success.

Data Portability.

Because it’s collected with consumer consent, the first-party data you own can be moved between platforms. Upload a list of opt-in email addresses to Facebook and create a custom audience for ad targeting. Upload it to Google, and create a look-alike audience to expand your ad reach.

Map the Customer Journey.

Identify the steps shoppers take before buying your products. Send the right message at the right time, encourage customers to take action, and tell others about your products.

Improve Omnichannel Measurement.

Create one view of the customer and accurately attribute sales to marketing activities across channels (e.g., by seeing how online ads drove in-store purchases). Measure true channel performance without double-counting or missing touchpoints.

Excellent team of people with a lot of knowledge to share. They have been very responsive and made sure we are aware of everything they are doing at all times, so nothing slips through the cracks.

Data-driven marketing optimizes brand communications based on actual customer information versus assumptions or guesses.

First-party data is information a company collects directly from people who interact with its brand. When first-party data is collected with the consent of users and customers, it can be used for personalized marketing and retargeting. It can also be sold to another company with the user’s/customer’s permission.

Examples of first-party data include:

  • Website or app interactions (including browsing, form/quiz/poll/survey completion, reviews and search queries on the brand’s website), account registration info (including email address) and online behaviour
  • Transactional details (including store visit data, individual order details, phone number and shipping address) plus purchase history
  • Loyalty program activity

Second-party data is collected by one company and shared or sold to another trusted partner with permission, as per above. Third-party data is data that an aggregator collects from various sources and sells as a package. Because buyers lack clarity on how it was collected, they may find the data is of low quality or has formatting that makes it difficult to integrate with existing data. It may also contravene privacy regulations.

Unlike third-party data available for your competitors to buy, first-party data is unique to your business and based on how consumers interact with your brand, not the rest of the world. You can use this data to better segment your audience based on demographics, preferences, etc., and unlike most second or third-party data – because you own it – you can move it between marketing channels. Some critical challenges remain, though, including integrating first-party data with marketing tools.

At Search Engine People, we’re all about boosting your business’s success with precision and expertise. Our proprietary data platform seamlessly integrates your first-party data from multiple sources like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads, and Meta. By aligning and cross-referencing this data, we create powerful new KPIs, metrics, and signals tailored to your business needs. Plus, we enhance your CRM with additional data for improved attribution. This means we can spot new opportunities, identify potential risks, and make accurate predictions to help you get the most out of your budget. Ultimately, our goal is to focus on strategies that drive real revenue for your business.

YOU DO! It’s as simple as that. At SEP, we store it on your behalf and analyze it as needed to maximize campaign objectives.
