Last night, I typed in a URL, thinking I had remembered it correctly. Silly me, I should know better than to trust my memory. In any case, I ended up at www.xtreme.com, rather than where I wanted to be, and this is what I saw.

YPN ads

That's right. There's absolutely NOTHING on that page except YPN ads. I even checked the View Source to be sure it wasn't just a browser problem. Nope. Head, Body, YPN ads. Nothing else. Amazing.

Seems they went ahead and banned them now as I see no ads at http://www.xtreme.com/ at all. I checked the source, the code is still there… but I get no ads showing up…

Did you report them per chance? 🙂

    Wow, that’s really strange.

Perhaps they are going for a TRULY minimalist design. Haha.

I’ve never come across anything like that before, Donna.

However the YPN javascript is still in the source code, the ads aren’t being showed any longer. Propably the domain has been banned meanwhile.

I still get the ads showing in both IE7 and Firefox.

Not only to I get the ads, like you I see some of the highest paying ads there are (LendingTree, GeekSquad, and LowerMyBills). Those are all heavy hitting advertisers who pay big bucks to be on top of Google.

    Also, they’re not cloaking:

    Yahoo’s cache of the page.

    Hmm.
