In the following list of US Cities, Search Engine People (SEP) tracks and monitors keywords for ongoing research in an effort to better understand the markets and the requirements of performing well using SEO.
The study monitors dozens of keywords specific to each city, in an effort to understand the competitiveness of each city, where opportunities lie, and even what is required for a site to hope to rank well in that city. Individual keywords studied represent industries, and industries in turn are grouped into 10 main baskets (shown below).
Gathering the data in this way, allows for each city to be ranked on SEO Competitiveness, by province/state, by region, and ultimately by country.
