For the last couple of days, word has been spreading about some changes in Google rankings, backlinks and PR. It does not seem to be widespread, but something clearly is going on. The most discussion on the topic can be found at www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/29460.htm, which is steadily growing thread. From the looks of things, it seems that Google may have turned the duplicate content knob higher, as more and more people are reporting seeing their pages go url-only. If your pages end up url-only in the SERPs (no title or snippet), you may need to make each page a bit more unique than before. The reports on backlinks and PR changing seems to be more of a glitch than the real deal, but it may be a sign of changes to come. We'll have to wait and see on that.
