Yahoo! today announced that it has create the Yahoo! Developer Network, which in essence gives us an API with a nice limit of 5000 queries per day (as opposed to 1000 per day that Google gives). The API can be used across all of their search products, including web search, image search, news search, video search, and local search. I am sure that many ranking products will spring up now , and I assume the DigitalPoint keyword ranking tool will soon be able to support Yahoo! rankings. To find out all about it and to get your own API key, go to https://developer.yahoo.net.
In other Yahoo! news, the name "Overture" is no more...Yahoo will rebrand it as Yahoo Search Marketing Solutions. They will be working on allowing smaller publishers to get in on it, with an upcoming product that will be similar to Adsense.
Good job, Yahoo! Search competition gets more and more interesting.
