I was recently given an advance copy of a new SEO ebook called "The Truth About Website Promotion - Secrets of Affordable Website Promotion" by George Manty. This 96 page ebook is a well-written beginner's guide to search engine optimization. Because it is designed for beginners, SEO pros will likely not gain any insights from it, but it is a concise, organized look at the basics every webmaster should know if they hope to compete for search engine rankings.
Mr. Manty covers both on and off-site optimizaton, starting with choosing your market and keywords, and includes on-page optimizing, obtaining links, things to avoid, and even some ways to market that go beyond the search engines. I automatically look for complete mis-statements whenever I read seo ebooks, but I was surprised to find that the book was either accurate on all points, or at least within an acceptable range of accuracy on items that are hotly debated in the community.
The information is organized, well-written and easy to understand. All in all, I'd say that anyone wanting to understand the fundamentals of search engine optimization would do well to read this ebook.
