Yahoo has a new (beta) online Bookmarks service (no, I'm not talking about del.icio.us). TechCrunch notes that it has around 20 million active users...from its previous version... (compared to only 1 million for del.icio.us).
This isn't a social bookmarking service, but a private one. That works great for me. I'm not into the whole "sharing" thing. The concept is fine, but I just don't have time for all of that. I do, however, need a really good way to manage my enormous list of bookmarks. It looks like this Yahoo bookmarking service will work perfectly for me.
I can arrange things in folders for organization AND I can tag them as well. And of course, there's a search function to find a bookmark. Sweet.
One really cool feature is that Yahoo caches the full text of the page, and shows a thumbnail of the page. So, in addition to my own notes, I can search for something I remember in the text, or use the handy-dandy visual thumbnail clue to refresh my memory. Ah, pictures! Fabulous idea for memory-challenged people like me. 😀
Now, I just need to bookmark the bookmarking service so I don't forget where it is!
