This is one of a series of posts in which I will be highlighting each member of the Search Bloggers list, with commentary on one of their posts (new or old). Look for this series to continue once or twice a week for the next couple of months.
Meet Marty Weintraub, the Search Blogger of the Day. Today I'd like to highlight a post called Think SEO Before You Name Your New Company!. Marty discusses "direct brand searches", which is something that doesn't get the limelight in our industry very often. He reminds us of the difficulties we may face in ranking for our business name, if we fail to consider things such as what the company name initials are, what the competition is for local search with a common brand name, and more common-sense advice that should be considered. What are some of the funny "oops" brand names you've run across that the owners obviously didn't think through before choosing it?
