Googleguy finally showed his face again over at WMW, and is discussing a few things that may be of interest to SEOs. I'll do a quick recap of some of the things he said so far (or at least my interpretation of what he said):
- Datacenter 72.14.207.104 is undergoing a new infrastructure, that is "orthogonal/independent of many other changes". This new infrastructure should be complete near the end of the summer, at which time, he or someone may begin discussions about datacenters.
- 72.14.207.104 is the datacenter which has more accurate site: queries as well as improving results for other queries as well.
- The recent monthly data refreshes (6/27 and 7/27) will likely become more frequents, perhaps once a week
- These data refreshes only affect one particular algorithm
This particular discussion appears to be what prompted Matt Cutts to open up his blog for more webmaster questions.
