Google Pagejacking Petition

Stay Connected with Us!

As I am sure you all know, I have repeatedly spoken out about the Google pagejacking problem, and I was quite happy to see that Google's own Adsense page was pagejacked yesterday. Having it happen to them may be one of the only ways to get through to the Google giants that they really do have a problem. The other way is to generate enough public and media attention that Google has no alternative but to fix the long-standing problem.

The pagejacker took care of the first way of getting Google's attention. Darrin Ward (former owner of SEO Chat) is trying to take care of the second way. He has created a petition that you can digitally sign over at https://www.darrinward.com/google302/. Yes, I signed it, and I encourage you to sign it as well. Darrin will take care of getting it out to the media and to the people who can best publicize this problem.

I also encourage other SEO bloggers to spread the word. Webmasters have suffered at the hands of this bug for far far too long. It is time to take what little control we have back into our own hands. Help Darrin spread the word and help yourselves as well. Even if you have not had your site hijacked, it is patently obvious now that it CAN happen - and yes, it can happen to you too. If Google themselves are not immune, neither are you. So, get on over there and sign the Google Hijacking petition.
