Today, I decided to try Advolution. According to their site, "Advolution listings are similar to the search results at other search engines, except that with Advolution you can choose exactly how your listing looks, what search terms it is associated with, and where it shows up in the search results.
Advolution is not a not pay-per-click ad system, but rather a pay-for-position search engine. This means that you pay only once to have a listing associated with a search term. Search results are then sorted by how much was paid for each listing (with ties sorted by the older listing)."
I'm not sure if this will fly or not, but since it's getting some press, I figure I'd jump on it early - especially since they are giving a 5-for-1 deal for a limited time. I figure I can give up a $1 to try out one ad (and get $5 worth) and see how it goes. I'll let you know what happens.
Isn’t this how SEs used to work?
Something historic about this…
Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I’m pretty sure there are still some second-tier se’s out there that do this. But who knows? Maybe what is old is becoming new again.
